Create List Views

Creation of new views do not impact any current list/web part relationships so feel free to experiment if a new need arises. Deletion of a view could impact the list/web part relationship and deleted views are not retrievable. Please use caution and discuss with the agency (site) Single Point of Contact before deleting a list view.

List View Notes
- It is recommended that the default view contains all columns and is left in tact for the life of the list.
- We suggest creating a new view to be referenced by a web part rather than having the default view be referenced. This allows that the all inclusive default view remain in tact if the specific need of the web part display changes. The alternate view may be manipulated, or a new view created while maintaining a 'single source of truth' for the list that is unaffected.
- A simple way to think of the And and Or filters is:
- AND views are restrictive. A list item must qualify by two or more requirements in order to be included in the view
- OR views are permissive. A list item may contain one or more of any of the criteria listed to be included in the view.
