TPE Basic Search
This video and the article below describe the basic search functionality for TPE users.
Basic Search is available to all TPE user permission levels.
This video is roughly 2 minutes long.
TPE Basic Search
The initial page displayed after login is the search page. Using basic search, TPE can find orders based on any of the following:
- Order ID - Often on the customer's receipt.
- Local Reference ID - may or may not be available to the customer.
- Last 4 digits of the Credit Card used for the purchase - present on most receipts. Using this criteria may result in multiple items being returned, but does help narrow down the field.
- F Trans ID - Pertains to the transaction item associated with an order. Authorizations, payments, refunds, returns, cancellations and voids and declines all have an F Trans ID associated with them.
If the search criteria matches a single order record, such as the order number, then the result of the search will be landing on the Order Details page for that order.
If the search criteria entered matches more than one order, like in the case of the last 4 digits of the credit card used, the result will be list of orders that qualify, helping to narrow down the field of possibilities. In that situation, a few more questions to the customer will usually yield the correct order for the inquiry.
