Create a Service Desk Account
Overview
Using the Guide and submitting requests to the Oregon E-Government Service Desk require that an account be created first. This is to reduce the amount of SPAM type messages that are received that take the time of the Service Desk Staff to weed through which decreased the time available to resolve issues and fulfill requests.
To Create an Account
Navigate to the Oregon E-Government Service Desk Portal and use the 'Sign up' link offered under the 'Sign in' button.
Fill in the form for a new account.
- Enter your full name - no agency names or positional titles here. This should be your personal first and last name.
- Enter your email address - no agency general delivery or group/shared email addresses here. This should be your personally issued professional email address. This ensures that communication about any given issue is delivered to the appropriate person and that the appropriate person and that person alone is contributing to requests and issue resolution.
- acceptable email address examples: john.drake@oregon.gov, or sue.rally@dsl.state.or.us - these are uniquely issued to individuals
- unacceptable email addresses would be: dasinfo@oregon.gov or webteam.odva@state.or.us - these are not uniquely issued to individuals.
- Indicate that you are not a robot by completing the reCaptcha task.
The Oregon E-Government Service Desk will acknowledge the submission and send an email to the address entered to validate the address.
The email comes from support@egovservicedesk.zendesk.com and contains a link to validate your email address with your Oregon E-Government Service Desk account. If you don't see it in a few minutes, you might want to check the SPAM folder to see if it was filtered.
Click the link in the email to validate your account request.
A browser window will open allowing you to set the password for your new account. The password must qualify by the requirements shown and/or state password requirements, whichever is greater.
At this point, the system logs you in and you can begin using the Oregon E-Government Service Desk Online Portal.
