Overview
All data access accounts need attention from time to time; whether that's recovering a lost password, updating a name, or any of a number of other common tasks we perform on our own accounts. This article discusses the common account maintenance activities performed on Oregon E-Government Service Desk accounts.
Recover a Lost Password
When a Service Desk login password is lost, it's easy to recover and set a new one as long as you have access to the email account associated with the account.
- Click the 'Forgot my password' link on the Service Desk login page
- Enter your email address (that you used for your Service Desk account) in the field
- Click the blue 'Submit' button
This results in an email being sent with a link to set a new password.
Clicking the link opens a browser window where you can set the new password.
Clicking 'Change password' sets the new password and logs you in to your Service Desk account.
Normal Password Reset
When a password change becomes necessary due to 90 days passing or if it was compromised in some way, follow the below instructions to change the password.
With a logged in account:
- Use the drop menu at your name in the upper right and select 'Change password'
- The new password pane will appear where both the old and new passwords are entered.
- Click 'Change password' to complete the process
Clicking anywhere on the page will close the pane and the new password will be in place.
Edit My Service Desk Account Profile
Using the drop menu under your name, choose 'Edit my profile'
The profile information editing pane opens where you can edit the name, email address and phone number associated with the account.
To change the profile photo (avatar) click the 'Change photo' button
- Browse to the desired image on your machine
- Select the image
- Click 'Open'
Clicking 'Ok' in the profile editing window saves the change.
